Magyar Telekom Digital Bridge Fest at small settlements of Baranya
Magyar Telekom organized a two-day program series called Digital Bridge Fest at several small settlements of Baranya on May 29-30. Magyar Telekom’s volunteers provided internet training to the residents of the settlements, accompanied by a diverse range of programs, thus helping to close the digital divide.
On May 29, Királyegyháza,
Nagyharsány and Sellye, while on May 30, Kővágószőlős, Máza and Orfű hosted the
Digital Bridge Fest. At every location, the volunteers of Magyar Telekom’s DigitalBridge at Small Settlements Program made
presentations, provided customized training and organized a contest about the
internet. With the stewardship of singer, musician, choreographer, Péter Novák,
a talent contest also took place, where children and adults were welcome to
perform. In the framework of a new type of job fair held at the locations of
the event’s first day, the representatives of the Regional Labor Center of
South-West Hungary and the Regional Training Center of Pécs presented how the
internet can be used to find jobs or vocational training opportunities, as well
as provided advice specifically about job hunting on the internet.The internet job fair and job counselling
was also supported by the WiFi Village Program launched by the Foundation for
Internet Penetration.
