TIBOR RÉKASI REAPPOINTED AS CEO OF MAGYAR TELEKOM

Magyar Telekom's Board of Directors approved the extension of Tibor Rékasi’s contract as CEO of the Company at its meeting held on February 22, 2024. Tibor Rékasi was appointed as Magyar Telekom’s CEO in July 2018, and his mandate was extended for another 3 years at the end of 2020. Based on the Board of Directors’ decision today, Tibor Rékasi’s contract will be extended by further 3 years, until June 30, 2027.
Daniel Daub, Chairman of the Board of Directors commented the decision as follows: " Since his appointment as CEO in 2018, Tibor Rékasi has put the company on a growth trajectory and strengthened Telekom's position in Hungary in all market segments. Under his leadership customer satisfaction improved and brand value increased, his personal vision is an excellent support to the Company's strategic objective: the digitalization of Hungary.”
Tibor Rékasi joined Magyar Telekom Group 12 years ago as Managing Director of IQSYS Zrt., then he was CEO of T-Systems Hungary from 2013 to 2017, after which he was appointed Magyar Telekom’s Chief Commercial Officer Residential, which was a position he held until his appointment as CEO in 2018.Since 2018 Magyar Telekom has strengthened its position as the leading integrated operator and has maintained its strong position in the mobile, fixed and TV markets. Thanks to intensive developments in recent years Magyar Telekom now offers gigabit speed to more than 3.6 million homes and businesses, and increased its population-based outdoor 5G coverage to 65% as part of its mobile network modernization program. To support the digitalization of Hungary and to serve customers needs as much as possible, the company offers a wide range of services and products across the entire spectrum of telecommunications and info-communication (ICT) services.
