FTSE Russell (the trading name of FTSE International Limited and Frank Russell Company) confirms that Magyar Telekom Telecommunications has been independently assessed according to the FTSE4Good criteria, and has satisfied the requirements to become a constituent of the FTSE4Good Index Series.
Created by the global index provider FTSE Russell, the FTSE4Good Index Series is designed to measure the performance of companies demonstrating strong Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices. The FTSE4Good indices are used by a wide variety of market participants to create and assess responsible investment funds and other products.
Magyar Telekom Group’s ESG Rating is 4.9 on a scale of 5. Based on that Rating, the company is in the top 1% in the global telecommunication sector.
Magyar Telekom has been a member of the FTSE4Good Emerging Index, which evaluates the sustainability performance of companies in emerging countries, and currently covers 539 companies in total, since the launch of the index, in 2016. In addition to the FTSE4Good Index Series, the company is also a member of the CEERIUS (Central and Eastern European Responsible Investment Universe) index of the Vienna Stock Exchange from the beginning. The German ISS-Oekom also ranked Magyar Telekom as the best in the telecommunications sector in 2018, and the US-based MSCI assessed the company to be in the above-average AA category, too.
