Magyar Telekom launches a new internet-based messaging service
From now on the message button gives you more. In March Deutsche Telekom introduces the RCS (Rich Communication Services) service for Magyar Telekom’s residential and enterprise customers thereby renewing messaging service options.
The new generation messaging service supplements the still frequently used text message, that has been available for 25 years, as well as the MMS image forwarding service, that made its debut one and a half decades ago, with new functions: internet-based individual and group chat, HD quality photo, video sharing, file sending, own geographical location sharing or even group message sending options. By way of activating the RCS service subscribers can exchange internet-based chat messages with any other RCS user around the world.
The new service can be used simply and swiftly and in the case of certain handsets it is directly available from the pre-installed message button or can be activated in the downloadable Android Messages application. There is no need to register in the chat application or in social network sites. Messages will surely reach their destination either as a chat message through the internet or in the form of an SMS or MMS message. The activation of the service is free of charge, however, the chat traffic, the sending of pictures and files generates data traffic consuming the subscriber's data plan both in the case of residential and enterprise mobile internet services.
During the pilot run, starting in March, the service is available from the default Android Messages messaging application from Nokia 3, Nokia 5, Sony Xperia XZ and earlier sold Samsung Galaxy A3 (2017) devices while in the near future further Samsung models will also be involved in the provision of the service. The service can also be activated from the downloadable Android Messages application on mobile devices running Android 4.4. or above.
