Magyar Telekom wins Family-friendly Workplace Award

The Human Resource Ministry has announced the winners of the year-2015 Family-friendly Workplace Award. Magyar Telekom’s peer-mentoring plan aimed at parents of small children was selected to be among the winners, thus the company received the Family-friendly Workplace Award.
Out of 500 projects submitted, 6 companies were awarded in the Large Enterprise category. The purpose of the contest is to promote initiatives that aim to establish and develop family-friendly workplaces that support work-life balance and help employees to harmonize their duties at work and at home. The Telekom project awarded is the initiative titled “Mom2Mom – mommy, daddy peer-mentoring” The program aims to establish peer-mentoring opportunities based on the company’s existing mentoring system. The system helps employees in similar situations, i.e. being parents of small children, to seek support from each other. Parents who have returned to work at least half a year, but not more than 3 years ago mentor ones who consider returning or have just returned to work, and are preferably working for the same unit.

Magyar Telekom’s responsible employer initiatives have been recognized in the
form of several prizes in the past, the latest of which is the
Disability-friendly Workplace Award. The company has
also won the “Diverse Organization TOP10” title several times

Survey conducted in 2012 among Hungarian companies MT came in second in the
Large Enterprise category. In November 2010, it won the HR Oscar founded by the Association
of Hungarian Private Employment Agencies. In March of the same year, the
company won the Golden Bridge Prize given to the HR Team of the Year.
