Renewing school level football in hungary: Telekom football student olympics 2013!

Promoting Hungarian football talent search and raising awareness of amateur and junior football, for the first time this year the Hungarian Student Sports association and Magyar Telekom jointly organise the Student Olympics football competitions, having decades long traditions.
The series of events called Telekom Football Student Olympics putting thousands of players to action between April 20 and June 17, 2013 will be organised in several age groups, for boys and girls, students of elementary and secondary schools, in an „upward” competition system. At the locations of county level and national finals student players, teachers and family members supporting them and the fans will be entertained by versatile programmes, featuring Levente Harsányi, Zoli Ganxsta, Olivér Nacsa and freestyle world champion Kitti Szász.
The Telekom Football Student Olympics were announced in Szent-Györgyi Albert Elementary and Secondary School, with participants including dr. István Simicskó, state secretary of the Human Resources Ministry responsible for sports and youth, Attila Keszég, chief officer of Magyar Telekom responsible for residential services, Gábor Balogh, chairman of the Hungarian Student Sports Association as well as the winning girls’ team of the 2012 Football Student Olympics in age group 5-6. The girls’ team will leave for the Secondary Schools’ Football World Championship on Saturday.
The county level finals of the Telekom Football Student Olympics will be organised at 20 locations, in 19 counties and Budapest, with 760 football teams and 8,500 players. Organisers welcome players, families and fans with free programmes, competitions and valuable prizes in the designated county level sports centres and in Budapest.
The objective of the Hungarian Student Sports Association is to promote educating youth for healthy lifestyle, raising awareness of regular physical exercise and doing sports, increasing the number of students regularly involved in sports activities and succession management in competition level sports, as well as representing members and their interests both in Hungary and internationally.
