Hungarian success achieved at the Portoroz Golden Drum Advertising Festival!

Two gold medals and a Grand Prix awarded to the Support Athletes From Your Heart campaign of Telekom and DDB

At the Golden Drum Advertising Festival in Portoroz – the most important event of the advertising industry in Central-Eastern Europe – the Olympic communication of Magyar Telekom and DDB received gold medals in two categories, as well as the main award of the innovative category.

At the most important event of the advertising industry organised in Portoroz, Slovenia, in the so-called “single channel” category communication solution were competing which use specifically a single media channel.

The major event of the communication industry witnessed a unique Hungarian success – the campaign created by DDB Advertising Agency for Magyar Telekom’s T-Home brand received three awards. The „Support Athletes From Your Heart” interactive campaign received Golden Drum Awards in two categories – ranked first in the Digital Solutions” and „Innovative and New Media” categories. In addition, within the „Innovative” category the campaign received the main award, Golden Drum Grand Prix from among 91 nominations! Chairman of the jury, Pawel Heinze said that the „Support Athletes From Your Heart” campaign uniquely merged the latest technology, innovation and real human feelings – with this solution by far excelling from among the others.

Another point of interest: in the „single channel” category altogether 1,700 nominations were submitted. The above achievements made Magyar Telekom the fifth highest scoring brand in a tie at he festival, among all participants.

With the „Support Athletes From Your Heart” campaign we demonstrated that subscribers can enjoy the same experience sitting in front of the T-Home Interactive TV, as if they were in the stadium and their support can also be heard in London. „The campaign perfectly met our expectations, using mobile technology our agency created a truly unique tool, the „Fan Heart”. From the site www.igazirajongok.hu anyone could send a heartbeat, which the „Fan Heart” tool held by Olympic athletes showed immediately. The idea was vastly successful, as almost 30 thousand people sent heartbeats during the Games, in other words T-Home forwarded the support of fans filling a whole stadium.”
