Those calling or sending a text message to the hello holnap! Donation Line 1788 in March and April 2012 will support the goals of the Mosoly (Smile) Foundation. Magyar Telekom, now successfully operating the donation line for the 10th year considers it important that it should promote with its support the development of local heath and the improvement of health services.

Many children in Hungary are struggling with illnesses that require lengthy hospital stays for treatment equally testing body and soul and often lasting several years. These children have to overcome illness away from their accustomed family and school environment, often becoming isolated physically and mentally. It is hard for both the patient and the family to cope with this life situation in their everyday life.

The Mosoly Foundation has been helping the healing of chronically or seriously ill children since 1996 with the help of its program supplementing hospital treatment. Their main aim is to use tales and art to alleviate the psychological burdens that result in illness and may hinder their recovery, and to strengthen the children’s mental well-being. Enthusiastic members and professionals of the Mosoly Foundation believe that their program uniting the diverse methods of psychology and tale and arts therapy can help in coping with the difficulties accompanying illness and thus it will contribute to the speediest possible and more lasting recovery. With the help of donations received through the donation line they will hold therapy sessions in the two cooperating hospitals in what will be the first phase of the complex program designed to supplement medical treatments and there will be a second phase for children who have already been through treatment but are not yet recovered, to help their re-integration.

Experience and the feedback received from medical staff show that the method is really effective; children who have received the therapy become more receptive, find it easier to bear the pain of the interventions necessary for their recovery and will be able to readapt to the world of healthy children in a shorter time. With the help made possible by the donations received through the Donation Number 400 children can be involved in the various programs of the Mosoly (Smile) Therapy in the coming year, as the result of which they will be able to experience happy moments despite their difficult situation and recover some of the joys of childhood.

The price of the call and the text message is HUF 100, free from VAT (with the exception of calls initiated from Domino top-up cards). The full price of the calls received in March and April 2012 will be the contribution of the callers to the Mosoly Foundation, which will use the amount towards expanding its program and becoming able to promote the recovery of an increasing number of seriously ill children.
