Budapest, September 14, 2011 14:00

Magyar Telekom's internship program is about to start again from February 2012 applications to which are expected to be posted on the company's home page until October 20, 2011. The success of the program is proved by the fact that 755 young people applied for the previous program launched in September of whom 56 were admitted. Thus, taking the students involved in the program also into consideration, currently a record number of 117 interns work in the company's various areas.

The aim of Magyar Telekom's internship program, which has been operating for 15 years, is two-fold. It offers, on the one hand, an opportunity for college and university students to familiarize with the operation of a large company and obtain real hands on work experience, and, on the other hand, to provide the chance for the most competent students to start their career at Magyar Telekom. Another unconcealed intention of the program is to attract fresh knowledge to the company and enrich with new impulses the life and operation of the organisation.

Applications for Magyar Telekom's internship program to be launched in 2012 can be posted on Telekom's karrier.telekom.hu web site in the period between September 15 and October 20. Applications are expected from students with an active student status, pursuing their studies in higher education for obtaining a college level (BSc or BA) degree or a university level (MSc or MA) degree. An additional requirement is at least intermediate level English language proficiency. The company enters into a part-time employment contract for a fixed period with 2 months' probation. The program engages the students for 20 hours a week in a flexible arrangement. Interns are granted gross 75 thousand HUF per month which, after the probation expires, is extended by a wide range of fringe benefits. The Telekom program starts with an orientation period to help students adapt to the company's culture. Following this interns are involved in specific tasks of a project type, in their own professional areas. In the course of the 5-month program the company provides a continuous feedback to the students and, thanks to the mentoring system and personal consultations the interns' personal and individual development is also given an especially great attention.

Telekom's aim is to draw the attention to its program using the language of youth, therefore apart from the information displayed in the company's own web site interactive communication on Facebook is offered for those interested in the program. Everybody may ask their questions on the "I will become a Telekom intern" site and they will receive an answer from the most authentic source, i.e. from those who are already involved in the program. In addition of course interns and the company's staff will visit several universities and colleges to popularize the program aligned with Telekom's hello tomorrow! initiative.
