Budapest, October 6, 2011 12:00

Magyar Telekom was selected as the winner of Frost & Sullivan's 2011 "ICT Central and
Eastern Europe Communication Service Provider Of The Year" Award. Hungary's principal telecommunications operator was recognised as the CEE region's best ICT service provider based on its performance in gaining the highest concentration of bundled subscribers in 2010 and its ability to maintain market leadership.

The "ICT CEE Communications Service Provider of the Year" award is conferred on the service provider that has shown exemplary performance in Central and Eastern Europe in 2010/2011. The award focuses on residential telecommunications services, spanning fixed telephony, fixed broadband and pay TV services to residential customers. The nominees for this award category were evaluated on the following key criteria, as a result of which Magyar Telekom emerged as the best infocommunications (ICT) service provider operating in the region:
- gained the highest concentration of bundled subscribers in 2010,
- demonstrated complete ability to maintain market leadership.

A research team of expert ICT analysts conducted a detailed market performance assessment of companies, benchmarking of multiple criteria and an individual analysis of each nominee. As part of its ongoing research in the area of communication services, the team was able to identify those companies demonstrating excellent performance and results, leading the industry sector in which they operate. An independent panel of eminent industry leaders, assembled to scrutinise the research and select a winner from a shortlist of nominee companies in each category, deliberated the findings of the analyst team and decided on the deserving award recipients, including Magyar Telekom.
