Magyar Telekom’s insurance portfolio is being expanded with two innovative offers: Equipment Insurance for Domino customers and the Bill Payment Insurance.
One of the guiding principles in our life is to take care of the security of our family and valuables. This is why Telekom launched its Security Program in 2008 with the aim of enhancing its customers’ feeling of safety. The program was expanded in October with two new insurance types that are available only in Telekom’s offer.
Beginning from October Telekom makes available to its customers a type of insurance that offers a solution for those who lose their job or become permanently disabled to enable them to pay their telephone, internet or TV bills. The Bill Payment Insurance is currently available for residential customers using Telekom’s monthly charged mobile or wire line telephone services. As a new element of the Security Programs the Domino Equipment Insurance has also been available since October. It is the extension to top-up card customers of the popular service available for monthly charged T-Mobile subscriptions.
“It is important for Telekom to provide solutions with a usefulness extending beyond telecommunications; this is why it is the first among telecommunication providers to design an insurance service portfolio covering several areas of life and containing innovative elements,” said Gábor Pukler, Magyar Telekom’s director of innovations and business development.
The family accident insurance introduced in 2008 as the first element of the Insurance Program provides help to the customer and family members who live in the same household for accidents occurring in any country of the world and in any hour of the day. The service has been chosen by close to 150,000 Telekom customers.
So far 50,000 subscribers have taken out the popular Equipment Insurance. The Basic package of the service offers help to customers against accidental damage and destruction, while the Extra package extends basic services with coverage against theft with repair and replacement of the mobile phone. The innovative feature of the Equipment Insurance is that, for the first time among Hungary’s mobile service providers, it is made available not only with monthly charged mobile subscriptions but also with top-up tariff packages.
The major benefit of the Travel Insurance offered by Telekom is that it can be taken out quickly and easily by sending a text message or with the help of an iPhone or an Android application. Moreover the service can be used during travel, even within one hour of crossing the border, and the fee can be paid subsequently, with the monthly telephone bill.
“Feedback received indicates that the insurance services offer value and help to our customers and Telekom’s aim is to expand its Insurance Program in the future with high level and unique services responding to real customer needs,” Gábor Pukler emphasised.
