Budapest, June 22, 2011

  • XY campaign – Telekom customers can access festivals through the fastest lanes
  • Telekom promotes travelling by train, on the token of sustainability
  • QR codes help in orienteering at the location
  • nnovative services, laptop and Internet serving the visitors of VOLT Festival offered by Telekom

This year Telekom participates in organising the official closing countryside event of the EU Hungarian presidency, the VOLT Festival as main sponsor. The company offers innovative and interactive services to visitors of the festival.

Following reconciliation with partner service providers, this year T-Mobile customers can also enjoy the possibility of buying minute based tickets for VOLT. The process of mobile shopping is simple: the code of the festival (VOLT) needs to be sent in SMS to a certain phone number, and the entry code received needs to be produced at the Minute Based Festival Ticket Point, where the wristbands entitling the user to enter are issued. One can also decide on finally staying for the whole day, as ticket prices are maximised, therefore one can not overrun the intended time spent. Minute based tickets are available from the first day of the VOLT Festival.

From June 6 Telekom launches its XY campaign, offering unique possibilities for visitors of summer festivals. During the campaign – lasting one month, until July 6 – anyone visiting a T-Point and ordering any product or service by taking a loyalty commitment, will receive an XY wristband, enabling the customer to use the Fast Lane entering the VOLT, Heineken Balaton Sound, or Campus festivals (obviously by holding the appropriate ticket). XY wristband holders need to find the Fastest Lanes at the entrance of festivals, enabling them to enter the festivals without lengthy queuing up. Holders of XY wristbands will be expected with further surprises at the festivals, for example if they find another visitor wearing the opposite letter combination on their wristband, then Telekom treats them with an XY cocktail, or they can personally meet musicians performing at the festival, who will lead them into the secret world of backstage.

Telekom already takes care of the good mood for environmentally conscious festival goers, choosing trains to reach the festival venues. Visitors arriving in Sopron can reach the Lövérek location, using the free of charge festival express. Telekom welcomes the arriving audience with music and offers everyone going to the festival a pocket radio, when getting off the train. The little train – well known from last year – will surely be a good a useful friend for festival visitors. The little train – branded on the token of spoiling and comfort – will transport guests between the main train station and the entrance of the festival, free of charge in 10 hours every day.

The T-Mobile Terrace – enjoying huge popularity for years – offers lounge atmosphere at daytime, the it gets more dynamic from the evening till dawn. Festival goers – beside using Internet free of charge – can charge their mobile phones in the comfortable club. Visitors wishing to use the net are welcome in an Internet truck with 14 work stations, from 10 a.m. till 9 p.m. each day – at the VOLT Festival the appropriate transmission speed is provided by the optical network established on site. The company also provides laptops at the festival, that anyone can use for emailing or browsing, at certain times of the day. QR codes positions at numerous sites of the festival help people finding directions, these codes – when photographed with phones – also work as digital programme guides, again contributed by Telekom. Useful information, festival programs, performers, Telekom services – all at one location. Telekom enables people to reserve the best tenting slots beforehand, avoiding crowding and standing in the line – that often happen at festivals.

Summer music festivals are paid special attention to within the sponsorship activity of Telekom: further to the VOLT Festival in Sopron the company also assists Heineken Balaton Sound and the Campus Festival in Debrecen by offering innovative services that promote sharing experiences.
