Telekom Has Connected the HSPA+ Mobile Internet Service at 300 Stations - 1 GB additional monthly data volume from August 1, for all RelaxNet subscribers
Budapest, July 29, 2011 12:30
In the framework of Magyar Telekom's mobile network development program the superbly fast HSPA+ based mobile internet service with a nominal speed of 21 Mbps will be made available at 300 locations by the end of July. The modernization is to continue in autumn so that the HSPA+ technology can be connected as soon as possible at all stations of Telekom's network. As a result of the implementation of the HSPA+ based service, available from August 1 in the framework of a promotional offer will be the new, superbly fast mobile internet tariff packages recommended for intensive mobile internet users, the Net&Roll M package to ensure 16 GB data usage, and the Net&Roll L package to contain 26 GB data volume. As for RelaxNet subscribers, for them T-Mobile will offer 1 GB additional monthly data volume from August. The operator is to offer new mobile sticks to accompany the superbly fast speed.
The development of the mobile network Telekom announced in May continues
rapidly. Following the 200 stations having been launched into operation by the
end of June, by today the superbly fast HSPA+ based mobile internet service*
with a nominal 21 Mbps speed has become available at 300 locations in T-Mobile's
network. The service has already been connected, among others, in some areas of
Kazincbarcika, Nagyszénás, Harkány, Balatonboglár, and Tököl. Development
locations are being selected in consideration of consumer needs and Telekom
introduces the HSPA+ technology with a nominal 21 Mbps speed at locations with
the highest usage to enhance network capacity. The upgrade required for the
service affects not only base stations, but it will also bring about upgrading
in transmission technology, as Telekom ensures at such locations the
transmission network necessary for the increased needs. In addition Telekom will
ensure the HSPA+ service during the whole program at the Sziget Festival and the
Kayak-Canoe World Championship. The intensive development of the mobile network
will continue in autumn as well.
So far T-Mobile has been the first to
implement in Hungary the highest amount of mobile technology (e.g. the first
mobile network, 2G/GPRS, 3G/UMTS, HSDPA) and several innovations (e.g. MMS,
iPhone) and this time it is the first to appear, as a market leader, with the
system of tariff packages aligned with the superbly fast HSPA+ technology. The
new, superbly fast Net&Roll mobile internet packages can be chosen from
August 1, which will offer substantially higher data volume at favourable prices
to users who often watch video contents, download or send larger files. The
Net&Roll M package will offer 16 GB traffic volume for HUF 6.990 monthly,
while the Net&Roll L package will offer 26 GB traffic volume for HUF 9.400
monthly fee at the nominal maximum speed of 21 Mbps (at locations covered by the
HSPA+ service). The RelaxNet tariff packages - including the already existing
ones - will contain an additional 1 GB data volume monthly from August on a
promotional basis. The data volume offered by mobile internet packages can be
used freely with T-Mobile for e-mails, browsing, downloading files or watching
videos.
In addition to having to subscribe to one of the Net&Roll
tariff packages a HSPA+ technology enabled device will also be necessary. From
August 1 the Huawei E1820 type mobile stick and the T-Mobile Broadband Stick
E352 mobile stick will be available in T-Mobile's offer. The two devices will be
available for zero HUF with new subscriptions or subscriptions with an expired
loyalty to accompany Net&Roll M and L packages with 1 or 2 years of loyalty
period. The operator will continue to expand in the future its offer of devices
that support the 21 Mbps speed.
* Reaching the maximum speed requires an
appropriately enabled device supporting the relevant technology, and the network
is also required to support that speed at the given location; it also depends on
radio and usage conditions. The guaranteed downloading speed of the HSPA+ based
mobile internet service is 2000 kbps and its guaranteed uploading speed is 800
kbps.
