T-Mobile has the fastest broadband mobile data network in Hungary – comparative results of the Hungarian mobile operators (carried out with identical methods) have been confirming this finding for several years.

Based on the latest, recently published measurement results – made in the frame of compulsory annual data provision for the National Media and Communication Authority (NMHH) - T-Mobile normally offers 2.45 Mbps download and 818 kbps upload speeds on its broadband mobile network. Normally T-Mobile offers 1 Mbps higher download speed than the mobile operator ranking second.

As stipulated by government decree 229/2008. (IX.12.) on data provision, Hungarian mobile operators – among others – agreed on an identical method to measure broadband download and upload speeds. Consequently, the annual measurements of mobile operators are comparable. Annual measurements are carried our by mobile operators concerning their own networks by themselves, summarised results are forwarded to NMHH, and they are also published on the operators‘ websites. Hence, this is the only unified data provision concerning broadband mobile networks, that is based on a measurement methodology accepted by all mobile operators.

I am convinced that the information of customers can be exact and authentic only if it is based on measurements that are standardized and agreed by all players of the industry. The measurement referred to, proving the precedence of T-Mobile, belongs to this category” - said István Király, chief marketing officer of Magyar Telekom, assessing most recent results. „From the first moment onward, we have been targeting to offer the experience of real broadband in areas covered with HSPA. I am very glad to see that this strategy is justified by the choice of our customers. Even surpassing our share on the voice market our mobile internet market share is almost 50%, it showed an increase of 1,85% last year. As for T-Mobile, we believe that it pays off much more on the long run when the experiences of our customers justify the advantages of our high quality mobile Internet service“ – he added.

T-Mobile – getting ahead of its competitors - has been reliably offering its customers guaranteed download speeds in access of 2 Mbps, in areas covered with the 3G/HSPA network. Moreover, T-Mobile is the only mobile operator in Hungary to guarantee 2 Mbps download and 800 kbps upload speeds in the respective general terms and conditions (e.g. in case of downloading, ten times higher speed than other mobile operators in Hungary).
