Magyar Telekom is seeking interns

Budapest, March 16, 2010 10:00

Magyar Telekom is launching a new internship program offering university and college students the opportunity to gain in-depth practical experience. Applicants are requested to submit their applications to the program, which starts in September 2010, at the https://karrier.telekom.hu site by May 01.

Applicants must have active college (BSc or BA degree) or university (MSc or MA degree) student status. The 5-month, practice-oriented training offers students the opportunity to do their compulsory internship at Hungary's largest telecom company.

"Our goal is to enlist new talents," said Chief Human Resources Officer, Éva Somorjai about Telekom's internship program. "We would like to meet students pursuing academic studies, whether they are in their second, third or final year. The success of the Telekom internship program is well proven by the fact that more than 700 students had applied for placement in the program launched in September, out of whom we selected 86. In course of the past 14 years, we have never admitted so many interns. I can proudly say that Telekom, as the market leader Hungarian ITC provider, is the best place for students to perform and grow."

Participants of the Telekom internship program are required to work 20 hours per week, under fixed-term, part-time employment contracts, with 2 months probation. Interns are paid HUF 75 000 gross per month, which is coupled with a wide range of fringe benefits after the expiry of the probation period.

During the first two weeks of the Telekom internship program, interns are given preliminary training for later work on substantial and meaningful tasks in various professional fields. They then participate in specific projects of different functional areas. Each intern has a mentor, who helps the student to fit in, provides regular feedback and also plays a significant role in the development of skills. By this method, Telekom strives to share the complex knowledge and experience it represents as a large company, thus supporting the students and fresh graduates.

The Telekom internship program starts on September 01, 2010 and lasts till January 31, 2011. Applicants can submit their applications, including their personal data and CVs at the karrier.telekom.hu site by May 01. They will receive feedback by July 15 at the latest.

The efforts made by Magyar Telekom, as a responsible employer have already been recognized by several awards:
