"HR Team of the Year" award goes to Magyar Telekom

In recognition of its professional, complex and extremely active role played in the area of corporate citizenship, the HR field, consisting of 200 professionals, of the market leader company, employing thousands of people, won the Golden Bridge Award recognizing them as the HR Team of the Year.

At the most prestigious event of the HR community of Hungary, the HR Ball, those HR organizations were recognized by the HR Team of the Year award, which had done the most to promote the HR functions' strategic role and their contribution to corporate goals, i.e. the value adding nature of their function.
The professional community recognized the achievements of and the forward-looking, complex and extremely active activities pursued by Magyar Telekom, as a responsible employer, in the context of human resources.

Commenting on the prize, Magyar Telekom's Chief HR Officer, Éva Somorjai said: "My team and I work on making Telekom a likable, livable and attractive workplace, which employees are satisfied with and is able to attract labor force on the market. In order to achieve that, we act on the principle of equal opportunities, promote work-life balance and feel responsible for the health of our colleagues. The Golden Bridge award we won confirms our belief that we must continue to work as an employer responsible for the society".

Magyar Telekom's efforts made in the context of corporate citizenship have already been recognized by several awards:

- As part of the Most Desired Company 2009 survey, Telekom achieved the prestigious 4th place among students of technical studies and 7th place among economy students graduating in 2010 and 2011. As an employer committed to the concept of equal opportunities, Telekom supports fresh graduates by offering an apprenticeship program.
- The Best Employer Award reflects the loyalty of Telekom people, as well as the recognition of the professional efforts made by the company to ensure that Telekom be a likable and livable place to work.
- The Healthy Workplace 2009 Award of the American Chamber of Commerce proves that Magyar Telekom feels responsible for the health of its employees.
- The Family-friendly Workplace 2008 Award recognized the achievements of the company in the area of establishing a work-life balance.
- The community of advertising professionals selected the virus film titled "Gyula", which advertises Telekom as a workplace in an unorthodox approach, to be among the 12 best Hungarian commercials. Readers of Szívlapát website ranked it 3rd.
