Magyar Telekom is increasingly desirable
Budapest, March 8, 2010 14:00
Magyar Telekom was ranked to the prestigious 4th place, climbing six places, at the Aisec-Develor Most Desired Company 2009 survey conducted among students of technical studies graduating in 2010 and 2011. Among economy students, the company came in as 7th, which is 10 places better than in 2008.
The survey explored students' expectations in the context of the labor market and their patterns of job seeking, and awarded companies that the students found attractive.
Commenting on the prize, Magyar Telekom's Chief HR Officer, Éva Somorjai said: e make significant efforts to position ourselves among the most desired companies of the Hungarian labor market. That is why it is a great pleasure for us that Telekom is becoming increasingly attractive and recognized among students each year. For me, our popularity is further proven by the fact that more than 700 students applied to participate in the Telekom apprenticeship program launched in February, out of which we selected 86. We have never admitted so many apprentices in any of the last 14 years. On behalf of Hungary's leading ITC provider, I am proud to say that Telekom is the best place for the young to perform and grow."
The "Marketable Knowledge, Expectations Fulfilled" Conference, which hosted the prize ceremony and was organized in the headquarters with the support of Magyar Telekom as its main sponsor, can be considered the continuance of the Magyar Telekom - Hungarian Academic Education Dialogue launched last November. Commenting upon the Dialogue, Éva Somorjai highlighted in her presentation that the company initiated a dialogue between the business and the academic sectors, being the first leading company to do so, because the country's economic and social development is largely dependent upon whether players of the market and representatives of the academic world are able to cooperate with each other. As the first step of cooperation, Magyar Telekom concludes strategic partnership framework agreements with academic institutions that are open to the initiative. The first such agreement has been concluded with Debrecen University.
Beyond being a desired employer, Magyar Telekom is also a responsible one. Its efforts made in this context have already been
recognized by several awards:
The Best Employer Award reflects the loyalty of Telekom people, as well as the recognition of the professional efforts made
by the company to ensure that Telekom be a likable and livable place to work.
The Healthy Workplace 2009 Award of the American Chamber of Commerce proves that Magyar Telekom feels responsible for the
health of its employees.
The community of advertising professionals selected the virus film titled "Gyula", which advertises Telekom as a workplace
in an unorthodox approach, to be among the 12 best Hungarian commercials. Readers of Szívlapát website ranked it 3rd.
