Magyar Telekom helps fight against flood by HUF 60 million, free-of-charge mobile calls and donations from employees

Today, Magyar Telekom and its T-Mobile, T-Home and T-Systems brands decided to donate HUF 60 million to support flood-control operations. The telecom will transfer the amount to the account of the Hungarian Red Cross.

Flooding rivers and brooks, as well as inland water continue to cause serious damage. In addition to the HUF 60 million donated for the purpose and the initiative to collect further donations via phone, Telekom provides mobile phones by which the multiple parties involved in the major rescue efforts can keep in touch free-of-charge.
The telecommunication company provides 200 mobile phones equipped with T-Mobile Domino cards to the inhabitants of the settlements most hit by the floods and those participating in the rescue operations. The phones will also be forwarded to their intended recipients by the Red Cross.
Magyar Telekom also starts to collect donations from its employees on Wednesday. Donations made by the employees will be matched by double as much from the Company, and the amount thus raised will continuously be provided to the needy through the Red Cross.
