Budapest, July 7, 2010 14:00

Magyar Telekom expands its comprehensive aid package adopted to support flood victims in North Hungary. The service provider credits one month's subscription fee for fixed line T-Home services (TV, Internet, telephone) to the July invoices of its customers living at the 10 settlements most seriously hit by flood.

All T-Home customers living at the following 10 localities of Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county who held fixed line telephone, Internet or television subscriptions during the flood in May shall receive the credits: Edelény, Felsőzsolca, Gesztely, Miskolc-Alsóhámor, Miskolc-Ómassa, Sajóecseg, Sajólád, Szendrő, Szendrőlád, Tolcsva.

The customers in question will receive the television, Internet and fixed line telephone subscription fee credits with their following invoices in July. Due to the time needed to process the credits, some customers might receive their July T-Home invoices a little later than usual, but the invoices will surely arrive by the end of July.

Customers do not have to request the credit, as it will be automatically included in their following invoice. Further inquiries may be directed to the nearest T-Pont shops.

T-Home has already granted individual credits to several hundred customers seeking such help during the past weeks, thus mitigating their grave losses. The operator continues to process individual customer requests related to flood damages on compassionate grounds and with high priority.

Magyar Telekom was the first to offer help to flood victims in North Hungary, when it launched the 1749 flood help line in May in cooperation with partner operators, through which more than HUF 143 million has been collected up till now. In addition, T-Home and T-Mobile have also taken part in launching and running the 1752 national help line.

In order to mitigate the damage and express our solidarity in tangible manner, Magyar Telekom has established a comprehensive aid package consisting of several actions. In the framework of the package, we offered HUF 60 million to facilitate flood management efforts, as well as provided 200 mobile phones equipped with free-of-charge T-Mobile Domino cards to the inhabitants of localities hit by floods and those participating in rescue operations. Magyar Telekom also started to collect donations from its employees. The donations offered by employees are matched by double as much by the company, and thus more than HUF 350 thousand have already been provided to flood victims. The artists performing at the charity gala sponsored by Magyar Telekom and held on June 22 at the Palace of Arts also offered the total net revenue of the event for the purpose of helping those hit by the flood. The donated amounts and assets are distributed among those who need them most by the Hungarian Red Cross.
