Magyar Telekom invites a sustainability competition

Magyar Telekom has invuted a sustainability competition on topics related to sustainability, in the categories of film, music and picture/design. Sustainability-related songs, short films on taking responsibility or any photo, fine or applied arts solutions connected to the same topics can be submitted to the competition announced in the framework of Sustainability Day to be held for the second time this year.

On September 25, 2009 Magyar Telekom will be organizing a Sustainability Day for the second time; this year its slogan is "Taking responsibility = positive energy". In connection with this full-day event, the Company has invited an art competition as well.

Sustainability-connected songs, short films on taking responsibility or any creative photo, fine or applied arts solutions connected to the same topics can be submitted to the competition. Competition entries prepared in line with the competition rules are to be posted no later than September 18 to the address palyazat@fenntarthatosag.hu. Competition entries will be evaluated by a four-member jury consisting of Magyar Telekom's Chairman-CEO Christopher Mattheisen, Creative Manager of KultúrPart Péter Novák , Professor at MOME Csaba Szegedi and Film Director Ferenc Török. Another competition will be held at the venue of the event; competition entries in the category "Film Live!" can be submitted to the organizers by 17:00 on the day and site of the event at Magyar Telekom's Headquarters.

The goal of the Sustainability Day is to focus on solutions, opportunities and activities promoting sustainable growth. To facilitate this, visitors can participate in panel discussion, attend exhibitions and evening concerts. The discussion will be introduced by Dennis Pamlin, Advisor to WWF Sweden, who has already participated in several successful sustainability projects. The discussion will be based on the three sustainability pillars (society, environment, economy) and will be held in an interactive manner. Participants in the panel discussion will include, among others, Orsolya Jeney of Amnesty International Hungary, Balázs Dénes of Hungarian Civil Liberties Union, Ada Ámon of Energy Club, Balázs Weyer of Origo, Dr. Sándor Kerekes of Corvinus University and Ádám Földes of Transparency International. As last year, Péter Novák will be the host manager responsible for the activities of the day.

The giant globe ball of the Sustainability Day will roll out for a journey again on September 25, this is the last occasion when it can be "sustained"; after the discussion program the ball will be transferred to the venue of the after-party at the Millenáris Theatre, where music will be provided by Maszkura, Tücsökraj and Zuboly bands after the competition's award ceremony.
