Telekom Donation Line competition for non-profit organizations

Magyar Telekom has issued an invitation for non-profit organizations to a competition to select the 2010 beneficiaries of the Telekom Donation Line. The company expects applications from public benefit organizations and associations that are active in the field of education, healthcare and sustainability. During the two months donation period to be granted for the winning applicants, anyone who calls the Telekom Donation Line at 1788 will donate HUF 100 to support their work. Deadline for submitting applications: November 11, 2009.

The Telekom Donation Line, also known by its slogan "1788 - the humanitarian call number", organizes the support of the needy in a simple and transparent way while helps the work of public benefit organizations that labor to solve social problems. The realization of the programs of the beneficiary non-profit organizations enhacess Magyar Telekom's leading position in corporate citizenship and in the support of knowledge sharing, healthcare and sustainability. Since the 2002 launch of the project, 45 beneficiary organizations raised almost HUF 170 million through the Telekom Donation Line.

The Telekom Donation Line can be called both from the mobile and wireline network of Magyar Telekom. Those who call the donation number or send an SMS to it donate HUF 100 to the beneficiary organization. The company provides this service free of charge, transfers the full amount donated, so it does not generate any revenue and even pays the relevant costs. (The call is free of VAT, except calls made with Domino prepaid cards.)

Magyar Telekom also grants significant help to the communication campaign of the program with the use of its own channels as well as through the media. With her personality, heart and thoughts, Klári Katona, the face and spokeswoman of the Magyar Telekom Donation Line helps the foundations collect as much money as possible for their work.

Deadline for submitting the 20010 Telekom Donation Line applications: November 11, 2009. The Board of Trustees of the "Magyar Telekom Contributions" program will evaluate the bids and decides on the 2010 beneficiaries at the end of November, 2009. The winning organizations, in order to ensure transparency, must prepare a report after the fund raising period and must also submit an itemized financial account on the sum received through the Telekom Donation Line.

Applicants may submit their bids with the use of the application form and its annexes. The applications must be submitted in a print counterpart and a copy of the entire documentation must also be submitted on cd or dvd. The application form is available for downloads on Magyar Telekom's website:
