Magyar Telekom's two senior executives have been granted a professional recognition by the Scientific Association of Communications in Hungary (HTE) at the jubilee congress organised to observe the 60th anniversary of its foundation. Chairman-CEO Christopher Mattheisen and Chief Technology and IT Officer István Maradi both were awarded HTE's jubilee medal in recognition of their professional work and active support of the Association.

Chairman-CEO Christopher Mattheisen said on accepting the jubilee medal,:
"I feel pleased and proud to have received this valuable recognition from a professional association, which provides the guidance for the development of Hungary's information society. As an industry manager I think that in view of the key future challenges and dynamic transformation ongoing in the communication market, HTE's activities will become more important than ever for carriers. Joining our forces we have to harmonise our economic, social and environmental interests and take responsibility for a sustainable future."

Since its foundation Magyar Telekom has been a legal member and supporter of HTE for almost 20 years now and an active participant in HTE's work through its experts. Chairman-CEO Christopher Mattheisen gave an opening speech representing carriers at the jubilee congress, while CTO/CIO István Maradi serves as one of HTE's current vice presidents.
