Eight hundred thousand forints aid to Samaritanus Ambulance Service

Budapest, May 7, 2009 14:00

Today Magyar Telekom presented a donation of HUF 800,000 to the Together for Our Health Foundation. The Foundation will use the donated amount to buy a portable ECG patient monitoring device for the Samaritanus Ambulance Service.

The Together for Our Health Foundation and through them the Samaritanus Ambulance Service received the donation by submitting an application to the Magyar Telekom Contributes program. The check was handed over by Magyar Telekom's Communication Director Mihály Varga to the representative of Samaritanus Ambulance Service Ferenc Dávid in the company's headquarters.

The Together for Our Health Foundation - a public benefit organization - supports primarily children's hospitals through donation of instruments that the institutions could not purchase with their own funds or could purchase them only with great difficulties due to their scarce resources, although they are indispensable for treatment and research.

The Samaritanus Ambulance Service transports sick and injured children free of charge anywhere in Hungary. During transportation problems may arise - primarily with seriously ill children - that require immediate intervention with devices to save life.
One of such instrument is the 12-channel portable ECG patient monitoring device recently purchased from Magyar Telekom's donation.

Magyar Telekom, as the major donor in the Hungarian business world and leading infocommunication carrier, considers it important to help the development of health care in Hungary by supporting up-to-date technological solutions.
The Board of Trustees of the Magyar Telekom Contributes program holds its meeting and decides on the applications received four times a year (in mid-February, May, September, November).
