Magyar Telekom helps South-Pest Hospital with a HUF 2 million donation

Magyar Telekom donated nearly HUF 2 million to the public benefit foundation A Szív Hangja ("The Voice of Heart") in the frame of the Magyar Telekom Contributes program. The HUF 1,960,000 donation will be used to finance the purchase of 2 pulsoximeters for Jahn Ferenc Dél-Pesti Kórház (South-Pest Hospital).
The public benefit foundation "A Szív Hangja" received the donation upon a decision of the Board of Trustees of the Magyar Telekom Contributes program. The donation check was today handed over by Head of Magyar Telekom's Brand Management and Corporate Social Responsibility Department Zoltán Kapitány to the representative of the foundation.
Jahn Ferenc Dél-Pesti Kórház is one of Hungary's key health institutions with duty service 365 days a year so the latest medical devices and instruments are absolutely necessary for its operation. Pulsoximeter is a life-saving device used to check blood oxygen content that significantly enhances the chance of survival even in the most critical cases. Permanent damage to health can be reduced to a minimum level with the use of this device with multiple checking functions.
The foundation has been operating since 2002. Its goals include contribution to health-care/preservation/restoration, prevention of diseases and health rehabilitation through technical assistance and financing. Its key program includes contribution to improvement of the supply of instruments available to hospitals in Hungary to improve the situation of people who need health-care. Under this program annually 6 to 8 life-saving medical instruments are purchased for hospitals in Hungary with the financial assistance obtained. Additionally the foundation continuously offers assistance to numerous social institutions and socially underprivileged families through donation of food, clothes, medicaments and other necessaries of life. The Board of Trustees of the Magyar Telekom Contributes program holds its meetings four times a year to decide on applications submitted.
