Magyar Telekom Group communications director leaves; will be succeeded by Mihály Varga

Communications director Dr. András Simon, who has been heading the communications activities of Hungary's largest telecommunications company for the past two years, will leave Magyar Telekom at the end of January. From February, the directorate will be headed by Mihály Varga.
András Simon joined Magyar Telekom as director of media relations, and from the autumn of 2007 he continued his career as
communications director. During this period the company has received the Business Ethics Award, two first places in the Accountability
Rating Hungary and it was also honored twice with the Corporate Donor of the Year award.
"Dr. András Simon has made an extraordinary contribution to the success of the transformation processes of Magyar Telekom,
for strengthening the 'T' brand and for Magyar Telekom to be able to pursue genuinely open communication activities as an
infocommunications provider. I wish him much success in his future work," said Christopher Mattheisen, Chairman-CEO of Magyar
Telekom.
Mihály Varga holds a degree in engineering and economics. After having worked for Sony Hungária Kft as head of marketing,
he joined Ericsson in 2000. He headed the Central and East European marketing activities of Sony Ericsson, the joint company
of the two firms from its foundation in 2001 to 2005. From 2006 to the autumn of 2008 he worked for Hewitt Humán Tanácsadó
Kft as head of sales and marketing. He will be able to successfully aggregate his international experience and knowledge gained
in corporate internal communication processes as well as in the mobile and consumer electronics markets, in managing the communication
processes of Magyar Telekom.
