New chief officer at T-Mobile Macedonia

The Board of Directors of T-Mobile Macedonia, the Macedonian member company of the Magyar Telekom Group, appointed Dr. Gábor Altmann as the company’s Chief Marketing and Sales Officer as of August 1, 2008. Currently he is Deputy Director business strategy and marketing at T-Systems, Magyar Telekom’s Business Services business unit.
The 46-year-old manager graduated in electrical engineering and
telecommunications at the Budapest Technical University and then earned
a PhD degree in computer technology. Later he obtained the
euro-engineering diploma of FEANI (European Federation of National
Engineering Associations), then an MBA diploma from Case Western
Reserve University (Cleveland, USA). He began his professional career
in Austria at Schrack Telecom then continued in France at CERMP (Centre
Europeene de la Ressource de Mode Protege) as software developer and
programmer. From 1991 he worked with Ericsson Hungary in various
positions including marketing manager, project manager, key account
manager and finally sales director for alternative service providers.
From 2001 he managed telecommunications projects: define governance
model and find venture capitals for start-up companies. Gábor Altmann
joined the Magyar Telekom Group in 2002 and worked as product
management director of Makedonski Telekom in Skopje where he
participated in the company’s market oriented transformation and its
preparation for liberalization. In 2004 he returned to Budapest and as
Senior Consultant at T-Mobile Hungary he managed integrated projects
for key customers. From 2006 as Deputy Director business strategy and
marketing at Magyar Telekom’s T-Systems unit he has contributed to
Magyar Telekom’s transformation from a telecom company into an
info-communications (ICT) service provider.
T-Mobile Macedonia
is 100% owned by Makedonski Telekom (MakTel), while MakTel’s majority
(51%) owner is Magyar Telekom since January 15, 2001.
