International recognition for Magyar Telekom

On November 26, 2007 the UN International Labour Organization (ILO) gave Magyar Telekom the Corporate Ambassador for the Best Practice of Diverse and Receptive Workplace Award for its activities in the field of equal opportunities at the workplace.
ILO collected and published good examples of companies in Hungary –
including Magyar Telekom – in the publication “For the receptive and
diverse workplace – Good examples of companies in Hungary”.
Simultaneously with the presentation of the publication and reception
of the award, Magyar Telekom signed and joined the collection of
guidelines “Code for corporate diversity and receptiveness” as a
further expression of its commitment to compliance with ethical norms.
In the spring of 2007, in the frame of the European Year of Equal
Opportunities for All, the regional office of the UN International
Labour Organization (ILO) called on companies to share their best
practice in the creation of diverse workplaces to remind the business
world of the importance of a receptive workplace.
The
publication “For the receptive and diverse workplace – Good examples of
companies in Hungary” includes 32 diversity and equal opportunities
initiatives of 9 companies. Magyar Telekom is included with 8 programs.
The publication provides information about the progress of companies
operating in Hungary in the creation of receptive and diverse
workplaces and offers useful ideas, practical solutions to all
companies which consider the creation of receptive and diverse
workplaces and leveraging related benefits to be important.
Magyar
Telekom presented to the public the following diversity and equal
opportunities programs in the hope that these initiatives will be
followed by other large enterprises in Hungary.
