Magyar Telekom came out on top of the list drawn up by Halvarsson & Hallvarsson (H&H) ranking the best Hungarian corporate websites. Besides the existence of financial, investor, corporate governance information the evaluation also assessed functionality and navigability of the home page. Telecom Italia is the leader of the European list.

Halvarsson & Hallvarsson (H&H) is a market leader Swedish financial communication consulting company which has been conducting surveys of the corporate websites since 1997, in the frame of which they analyze 500-600 business web pages each year. In their ranking they primarily focus on the requirements of investors, analysts and business journalists relating to the corporate home pages. They devote special attention to easy, English language access to the financial and investor information. In addition to that, key aspects of ranking include information relating to corporate governance, corporate contributions and sponsorship, the pages containing general company information, user friendly press room, and last but not least, application of advanced technologies and interactive functions on the particular home page. The company re-defines its focus each year, and this year the analysis placed even greater emphasis on functionality and navigability.

This is the first year that H&H has ranked the home pages of Hungarian companies as well. Out of the 11 home pages examined the web page of Magyar Telekom came out in first place. The design and structure of the page was developed with the contribution of Kirowski. The European list is also headed by a telecom company: Telecom Italia was awarded the title of the best company website.

The H&H survey also suggests that the importance of company home pages is increasing constantly. Eighty percent of the investors, financial analysts and business journalists who participate in the survey use the Internet on a regular basis in their activities, and 90 percent of them think that corporate web pages are the best source of financial information in the case of companies listed on the stock exchange.
