Magyar Telekom and Deutsche Telekom will combine their international voice wholesale business under the responsibility of Deutsche Telekom as of 1st of January 2008.

According to the agreement, Deutsche Telekom will be the exclusive partner of Magyar Telekom for international voice carrier services from January 1, 2008. The integration includes the aggregation of trading, commercial and technical routing, optimization of network and integration of switches and it also enables to exploit further synergies within the Deutsche Telekom Group.   Although consolidation of the international voice businesses will result in some transit traffic fallout at Magyar Telekom, reduced network, switching and headcount costs will drive further efficiency improvement.
