ADSL2+ offer from Magyar Telekom
Budapest, May 3, 2006 14:00
From June 1 Magyar Telekom is making the service based on ADSL2+ technology available in nearly 500 localities, as a result of which the internet can be accessed at a much higher bitrate reaching even 18Mbps.
Besides the increasing spread of ADSL service, Magyar Telekom devotes
special attention to the continuous enhancement of service quality. In
2005 Magyar Telekom increased its ADSL bandwidth several times free of
charge, then in February 2006 increased the 4 Mbps maximum download
bitrate of that time by 50 percent, to 6 Mbps. On April 24 the company
launched its service based on ADSL2+ technology as a test in certain
areas of the 13th and 14th districts of Budapest. Magyar Telekom
provides maximum 12 Mbps download rate until September 30 for the new
ADSL orders received between April 24 through May 31, irrespective of
the speed category of the package ordered by the customer. Magyar
Telekom will not charge the internet operator partners or the T-Com
T-DSL customers any extra fee for the increased bandwidth.
As from June 1, Magyar Telekom plans to launch its commercial product
based on ADSL2+ technology nation-wide, in 12 districts of Budapest and
in nearly 500 localities. Magyar Telekom is providing two broadband
packages to the internet operators with a maximum download bitrate of
12 Mbps and 18 Mbps. Customers can order the new packages offering a
bitrate much higher than ever from their internet operators.
