T-Com and T-Online extend their Klip service

Budapest, January 31, 2006 11:00

From the end of January Klip - the internet-based voice service of T-Com and T-Online Hungary - will be extended with new elements. Calls can now be initiated not only on the internet, but in the fixed-line and mobile directions as well. Furthermore, customers using the Klip service can be called through fixed-line telephone from the T-Com network, on the phone number starting with 06-21 provided by T-Com. Customers can register for the service on the Klip sites accessible at www.t-com.hu and www.t-online.hu (users of the service will be assigned an 06-21 phone number after registration).

In October T-Com and T-Online Hungary jointly launched an internet-based voice service called Klip. Users of the Klip service could initiate free calls on the internet and receive calls within the IP network. The success of Klip is proved by the fact that 32 690 customers have registered for the service since October.

After the extension of the service, calls made between Klip users within the IP network continue to be free, furthermore, calls can be initiated in the fixed-line and mobile directions as well. The gross fee of calls initiated in the fixed-line direction is 8 HUF per minute in every period, both for local and long distance calls, gross fee of the mobile calls is 55 HUF in the peak period and 35 HUF in off-peak period. The tariffs of international calls vary according to the tariff zones, which can be as low as 15 HUF (e.g. fixed-line calls to Austria).

Call charges are second-based. No monthly fee or call setup fee is charged but broadband internet is necessary for the service. The calls are post-paid by T-Com subscribers, together with the invoice, but the call charges are clearly separated on the T-Com bills.

For the time being the extended Klip service is available only to T-Com customers, but it will soon be made available to non-T-Com customers as well.

06-21 numbers can be called from the T-Com network by customers with XXL and Favorit Plusz tariff packages at 0 HUF in the off-peak period, and customers with other packages are charged 8 HUF per minute.

In February T-Com will appear with new devices that allow customers to use their internet telephone without having their computers on. A standard terminal equipment can be connected to the device, which forwards the calls on the internet. The devices will be available in the T-Com online webshop (www.t-com.hu), in the T-Pont shops and in the shopping centers. In the future we plan to launch supplementary packages and other payment schemes as well.
