Budapest, April 10, 2006 10:00
On April 24 Magyar Telekom will launch its pilot service based on ADSL2+ technology in those areas of two Budapest districts where ADSL was not previously available. Until September 30 Magyar Telekom will provide a 12 Mbps download rate for orders placed in these areas.
Besides the increasing rollout of the ADSL service Magyar Telekom pays
special attention to the continuous improvement of service quality. In
certain areas of Budapest's Districts 13 and 14 those customers who
were not able to enjoy ADSL internet at home before can now benefit
from broadband internet service offered by ADSL2+ technology. In these
areas Magyar Telekom provides maximum 12 Mbps download rate for the new
ADSL orders received between April 24 through May 31, irrespective of
the speed category of the package ordered by the customer. Magyar
Telekom will not charge any extra fee to the internet carriers or to
T-Com and T-DSL customers for the increased bandwidth.
Magyar Telekom will provide the increased bandwidth on a test basis
until September 30; after that date the customers will be provided the
originally ordered bandwidth. Magyar Telekom will notify all customers
affected in the test.
As the next step of ADSL service upgrade, Magyar Telekom plans the
introduction of new commercial products based on the ADSL2+ technology.
