Helpline to assist flood victims

For one month starting from midnight on April 7 Magyar Telekom (T-Com, T-Mobile), Pannon and Vodafone customers can donate HUF 200 to help flood and inland water victims by making a call or sending an SMS to the 1749 helpline. Donations will be brought to the needy by Hungarian Red Cross, Hungarian Interchurch Aid and Hungarian Maltese Charity Service.
Magyar Telekom (T-Com, T-Mobile), Pannon and Vodafone are cooperating
with the three charity services to contribute to helping the victims of
the flood and inland water hitting the country. The three
telecommunications companies offer the 1749 helpline to people wanting
to make donations.
From midnight on April 7 to midnight on April 30 customers of the three
companies can donate HUF 200 to the victims by calling or sending an
SMS with any text to the 1749 line which is accessible from both mobile
and fixed numbers. The operators will transfer to the charity
organizations the total amount received.
Last year HUF 123 million was donated by customers of these three
companies with this helpline to assist the tsunami victims in Southeast
Asia.
