Magyar Telekom acquires Dataplex

Magyar Telekom closed today the transaction to acquire Dataplex, a company operating in the Hungarian IT services market. The financial closing of the transaction was carried out on April 5, 2006 after having obtained the approval of the regulatory authority (Hungarian Competition Authority).
On December 13, 2005 Magyar Telekom concluded an agreement to buy a
100% stake in Dataplex Kft. for HUF 5.113 billion. The financial
closing of the transaction was carried out on April 5, 2006 after
having obtained the approval of the regulatory authority (Hungarian
Competition Authority).
No change was made in Dataplex's management and business operations in connection with the closure of the transaction.
Dataplex is one of Hungary's IT services market players and it has
reliable business operations, state-of-the-art infrastructure and
highly qualified expert staff. In accordance with its mid-term
strategic targets published in 2004, Magyar Telekom creates added value
by the Dataplex acquisition due to expanding of the service portfolio.
Our business service offers will be enriched with network solutions and
value added products such as high-security storage and server hosting
while we also exploit Group synergies in technical and other operating
areas.
