Elek Straub, Chairman-CEO of Magyar Telekom, presented a check of a ten million HUF donation to Dr. András Batta, rector of the Academy of Music, at a jubilee concert held at the Academy on September 18.

The Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music launched its 130th academic year on September 18. The concert held on this occasion featured prominent names of Hungarian music life, former Academy students, including Éva Marton, András Schiff and Zoltán Kocsis. At the end of the event Elek Straub, Chairman-CEO of Magyar Telekom, presented the ten million forint donation to Dr. András Batta, expressing the hope that MT's example would be followed by many other companies.
"Magyar Telekom and its legal predecessor have been dedicated sponsors of Hungarian classical music for a decade. With the decrease of the state's role, businesses have to intensify their support. It is time to take action to ensure that one of the emblematic institutions of Hungarian culture can again dedicate all its efforts to increasing our prestige in the world." - said Bálint Nagy, communication director of Magyar Telekom.
