Matáv's Treasury Director Appointed New CFO and Senior Executive Vice President of Slovak Telecom

Slovak Telecom's Board of Directors has decided about the change in the Executive Management Board of Slovak Telecom. The new Chief Financial Officer from April 15, 2005 will be Szabolcs Gáborjáni-Szabó, Matáv's Treasury Director.
Dr. Mark von Lillienskiold, the current CFO and Senior Executive
Vice-President of Slovak Telecom (ST), has been appointed by Deutsche
Telekom (DT), ST's majority shareholder, to the position of CFO in
T-Venture, a wholly-owned DT subsidiary. As of April 15, 2005,
Lillienskiold's position will be taken by Mr. Szabolcs Gáborjáni-Szabó,
Matáv's Treasury Director to date.
Szabolcs Gáborjáni-Szabó, the new CFO and Senior Executive
Vice-President of ST, graduated from mathematics-computer science at
the Faculty of Science of the Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest. He
continued in his studies at the Business Management Faculty of the
Budapest University of Economics, graduating in finance, and later
obtaining the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) degree from the CFA
Institute (earlier: American Institute for Management and Research -
AIMR). He started his professional career with K&H Bank at the
Special Project Financing Department, and in 1995-1996 he worked at the
Budapest Stock Exchange's Derivative Markets Department. In 1996 he
joined the Matáv Group, having since worked in the finance area of
Matáv and its subsidiaries, including the positions of Controlling
Deputy Director (1999-2001) and Matáv Group Treasury Director
(2001-2005). He is a Member of the Board of Directors of Axelero and of
Matáv's cable TV holding InvesTel and from 2004 also of Maktel's
majority owner Stonebridge.
A decision concerning Matáv's next Treasury Director will be taken later.
