Matáv increases its ADSL bitrate
Budapest, November 4, 2004
In order to better satisfy customer demand, Matáv increases the maximum speed of its ADSL accesses at no extra charge. Following a successful test period Matáv will continuously implement the re-setting of accesses from November 16, 2004.
Along with the wide-scale roll-out of ADSL service, Matáv is making
serious efforts to continuously improve the standard of its service.
Between September 28 and October 12, 2004 Matáv completed a network
test in the course of which the existing upload and download bitrates
were increased. Based on the favorable reception of the successful test
Matáv decided to implement a nation-wide increase of the maximum
bitrate of ADSL accesses.
Bitrates will be increased from November 16, firstly in the Pest and
East Hungary regions, then in the Buda and West Hungary regions.
Re-setting of the accesses is being carried out by Matáv continuously.
As a result customers experience the increase of maximum download
bitrate by one third in the case of the smallest package whereas the
bitrates of all other packages can be doubled, at unchanged prices and
unchanged contract conditions. In case of new orders the increased
bitrate will be available immediately to customers who live in a region
where the re-setting has been completed.
Along with the increase of service quality Matáv offers a 25% discount
on monthly fees to its wholesale partners for orders of definite period
received between November 1 and December 20. The monthly fee with a
discount will be in force from contract signature to December 31, 2005
and there is no entry fee.
