Press Releases
Volume-dependent ADSL from Matáv
Budapest, December 13, 2004 14:45
Today Matáv started negotiations with its internet service provider partners on the introduction of a new type wholesale ADSL structure. In addition to the current flat-rate wholesale offers Matáv will enable its internet service provider partners, the use of ADSL service with charges depending on the volume of the ADSL users' traffic. This new structure will enable the partners to offer already early next year a much wider choice of services better suited to the users' requirements.
Matáv will take another step to spread broadband internet usage. Matáv
has elaborated a new structure with which its internet service provider
partners can create volume-dependent ADSL access packages. So internet
service providers can offer, while keeping their flat-rate offer with
unlimited access, volume-dependent products at lower basic prices.
Today Matáv started negotiations with the internet service providers on
the conditions of using the new structure. Matáv expects from the new
wholesale offer that internet service providers can enter the market
already early in 2005 with a broader retail product choice.
Matáv is making great efforts to spread wider user of ADSL service and
continuously improve service standard. To ensure that Matáv better
fulfills the users’ requirements, in November 2004 the company upgraded
free of charge the download rate available on ADSL accesses. Contracts
for packages with the new rate will also be introduced early in 2005.
