Elek Straub elected President of the German-Hungarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce

On May 15, Matáv's Chairman CEO Elek Straub was elected President of the German-Hungarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce for two years.
Elek Straub and the Company under his guidance have been acknowledged
with numerous professional and social awards in the past years. In
1999, Elek Straub received the Hungarian "Manager of the Year" award
and in 2000 the international "CEO of the Year" award.
The Company's outstanding awards include the "Financial Times Global
Telecommunications Award" and the "Innovation Award" of the Ministry of
Transport, Communications and Water Management. In 1998, Matáv was
"Corporate Donor of the Year". In 1999, Matáv was selected "Central
European Corporate of the Decade" by Central European, a newspaper
belonging to the British financial publishing group Euromoney. In 1997,
1998 and 1999, Matáv qualified as "Best Stock Market Issuer" at the
Budapest Stock Exchange. In 2002, the Company received a US innovation
award.
