Matáv welcomes the decision of the Competition Council of the Office of Economic Competition, made on 28 July, in which the Office has terminated the procedure against Matáv. The decision made today has justified the expectation of the Company that a carefully considered decision of the Competition Council would clear Matáv of the charges of concerted market restricting conduct by telecommunications service providers.

As the determining telecommunications service provider of Hungary, in its market conduct Matáv has always represented legality and considered market competition beneficial and important both for the Company and its customers. The decision on the company was a logical consequence of the fact finding procedure.

In its business activities Matáv continues to have the interests of its customers as a first priority and strives to fully comply with the requirements of the subscribers and fair market competition.
