Fixed SMS also to the Pannon GSM network
Budapest, February 4, 2003
From February 1, 2003 Matáv customers can send fixed SMS messages to Pannon mobile phones, in addition to the Westel network. With the roll-out of the service, Matáv subscribers can naturally not only send but also receive SMS from Pannon phones. A fixed SMS sent to the Pannon GSM network costs 24 HUF gross, while inside the Matáv network one message costs only 11 HUF gross.
Matáv launched the Fixed SMS service on September 1, 2002 which enables
the sending and receiving of short text messages (SMS) also on the
fixed telephone.
The option of receiving an SMS is available for every Matáv subscriber.
If the addressee does not have a telephone set suitable for receiving
an SMS message, it will be delivered to him as a voice message, with
the help of the so-called text-to-speech technology which converts the
written text into voice message. Short written messages can be sent on
the fixed telephone to up to ten addressees at a time – Matáv, Westel
and Pannon GSM – alike.
The same fee applies for fixed SMS messages sent to the Pannon GSM
network as to the Westel network, that is, 24 HUF gross. Messages
within the Matáv network cost 11 HUF gross.
The credit of 20 and 30 free SMS messages monthly, available for
customers subscribing to the Matáv Csevegő, Sokatmondó and Ritmus
tariff packages, has been extended to the Pannon GSM network, too, from
February 1.
However, the fixed SMS is not available from RLL and GSM RLL stations,
and with the Kontroll tariff package. Also no SMS can be sent into and
received from the following directions: 06 40, 06 51, 06 60, 06 70
(Vodafone), 06 80, 06 81, 06 90, and to or from fixed networks outside
the Matáv network.
If you need more information on the service call the free Fixed SMS customer service number (06 80 53 53 53).
