Free phone calls in Matáv's service area for a monthly fee - According to Matáv's expectations, the new tariff package will halt the churn of fixed line subscribers in 2004
Budapest, December 3, 2003 09:00
From December 3, 2003 customers can make phone calls without minute charge and switching fee each day in off-peak period in local and long-distance zone 1 directions for HUF 990 monthly surcharge. The new supplementary tariff package called XL can be used with Bázis, Csevegő and Sokatmondó basic packages.
"Seeing the great success of the Péntek 13 (Friday 13) package
(subscribers to this package can make phone calls without minute charge
and switching fee from 6 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. on Saturday for HUF 199
monthly fee) we decided to offer a similar attractive possibility to
our customers for each day of the week," emphasized Bálint Nagy
Communication Director. "The system where free calls can be made within
a given area for a monthly fee is proven and popular in many countries.
Matáv wishes to encourage its customers with this offer to use a fixed
line telephone for making really important calls," said Bálint Nagy.
Subscribers to this supplementary package can make calls of up to 60
minutes length for a total duration of 100 hours each month for HUF 990
monthly fee (equivalent of about 3 hours' calls in the off-peak
period). After the 60th minute the call is charged with the tariffs of
the activated basic tariff package, but no switching fee is paid in the
off-peak period. This means - considering the phoning patterns - a
really unlimited and free phoning possibility on each day of the week
in the off-peak period in local and long-distance zone 1 directions.
