www.matav.hu becomes Hungary's first audited corporate website

Commencing today, Matáv's website is included in the official web audit list of Medián Public Opinion and Market Research Institute. Matáv's website containing several thousand pages is Hungary's first corporate website showing audited user statistics similar to the leading websites (primarily portal sites). The number of page impressions on www.matav.hu totals more than 80,000 on business days, but this number exceeds 120,000 on the most frequented days.
According to 1st half-year 2002 results of Medián WebAudit, there are
more than 80,000 pages impressions on www.matav.hu on an average
weekday with more than 16,000 user sessions. On the most frequented
days, more than 120,000 pages are downloaded during 22,000 user
sessions.
Since 1996 Internet surfers have been able to find Matáv-related
information at www.matav.hu. This website containing several thousand
pages is one of the largest Hungarian corporate sites exceeding even
many portal sites in size. Since its launch, www.matav.hu has been
thoroughly transformed twice affecting both its design and structure.
The latter of these modifications took place in 2001, in connection
with Matáv's new corporate identity.
The chapters and topics of the website focus on the decisive areas of
corporate life. Matáv's Internet pages include service and company
information, On-line Directory Assistance, ePont Internet store, sales
campaigns, financial reports, corporate news and tariff package
calculators. Matáv's Internet-based service for journalists, the
On-Line Press Room was launched on July 15. All information relevant
for the press can be accessed here in a structure serving the needs of
journalists and presented in an exciting graphic design (press
releases, ready-to-print quality downloadable photos, search options
with keywords, etc.).
Concerning the increasing importance of Internet presence, Bálint Nagy,
Matáv's Group Communications Director stated, "www.matav.hu is a
comprehensive communications platform targeting customers, investors
and the press. Our main goal is to develop a trend-setting website for
the leading telecommunications company of Central and Eastern Europe."
According to Medián's Managing Director Endre Hann, "We are extremely
