Matáv donated one million four hundred thousand forint to the Bajcsy Hospital

Yesterday Dr. Klára Kálósi, the president of "EUSTACH Foundation" – established with the purpose of developing the othorhyno-laryngology (OTL) department of the Budapest Bajcsy-Zsilinszky Hospital – received a donation of HUF 1,400,000 from Gyula Szabó, Head of Brand Strategy of Matáv. The hospital will spend the amount on purchasing diagnostics equipment.
"The Foundation was established in 1994 and was transformed into a
public benefit organisation in 1999. We have an annual budget of HUF
4.5-5 million, contributed by our sponsors. We have the objective of
promoting the training of our employees, improve the equipment of our
department and make hospital treatment more bearable for our patients.
The donation of Matáv will be spent on medical equipment enabling the
diagnosis and prevention of larynx tumour"– said Dr. Klára Kálósi.
"There are long traditions to large companies taking an active role and
demonstrating good corporate citizenship in Western Europe and the
United States of America and we also wish to lay the foundations of
this approach. Matáv has been supporting several needy healthcare and
social institutions in the framework of its sponsoring activities" –
said Gyula Szabó, Head of Brand Strategy of Matáv.
With regards to sponsorship, the company focuses on 7 specific target
areas (heart and cardio-vascular diseases, health retention programmes,
healing communicative problems, sports activities of the handicapped,
treating healthcare and social problems of children, supporting
telephone assisted aid services) and offers charity donations to an
ever increasing extent each year – last year amounting to almost HUF 70
million.
