Matáv Board confirms Elek Straub in CEO position till June 30, 2005

Budapest, May 31, 2000

On May 15, 2000 the Board of Directors of MATÁV Hungarian Telecommunications Company Ltd. assessed the work of Elek Straub as chief executive officer of the company.

On the basis of the company's achievements, the Board decided to prolong the fixed-term employment of the CEO lasting till June 30, 2001 by another four years, till June 30, 2005. Elek Straub has also been re-elected as Chairman of the Board of Directors, so he will be continuing in his position at the helm of the group of companies as Chairman-Chief Executive Officer of MATÁV.
