Almost two million HUF donation to Children’s Department of Miskolc Hospital
Budapest, November 28, 2008
Magyar Telekom has made a donation of HUF 1 818 750 to the ADRA-Vitium Foundation: the money will be used to buy a new examination head for the cardiac ultrasound equipment of the Children’s Department of the Miskolc Hospital.
The ADRA-Vitium Foundation has received the donation through application from
the Magyar Telekom Gives Back program. The check was presented to the head of
the Department Prof. Dr. László Barkai and senior surgeon Dr. Ágnes Boros by
Tamás Révy, head of the North Hungary Service Center of Magyar Telekom.
The
department makes some 2500 cardiac ultrasound examinations annually. Because of
the different body dimensions of the patients, precise examination requires
heads of different penetration capacity. The instrument is exposed to much wear
and tear and needs replacement every 2-3 years.
The ADRA-Vitium Foundation
regularly assists the hospital with the purchase of cardiology equipment, they
have already donated ECG, patient monitors and blood pressure meters to the
department.
As the most prominent business donor of the country, Magyar
Telekom makes a special point of supporting health and education.
The board
of the Magyar Telekom Gives Back program meets and decides on the applications
submitted four times a year, in February, May, September and mid-November.
