Telekom Donation Line for maltreated mothers
Budapest, July 4, 2008
Customers calling Telekom’s Donation Line 1788 over the next two months, in July and August, give a donation to the Baptist Charity Service Foundation. The foundation will use the amounts received for the development of its home where maltreated mothers and their children are accommodated.
The home for mothers and girls was created by the Baptist Charity Service in the spring of 2004 after an English example where, unlike in other temporary refuges, maltreated mothers and their children are received from anywhere in the country. Integration of the residents of the home into society is helped by educators, specialized care workers and theologians in individual sessions, and their independence and sense of responsibility are strengthened through various programs and therapies.
Telekom Donation Line (1788) is accessible from Magyar Telekom’s fixed and mobile network; a call or an SMS message costs HUF 100. All calls are free of VAT, except calls from Domino prepaid cards. The total amount generated from calls over the two-month period will be transferred to the Baptist Charity Service Foundation as a donation of the callers.
