The long awaited iPhone 3G may soon be purchased also in Hungary, the 8GB version will already be available for HUF 990 in the most favourable scheme. iPhone 3G will be exclusively sold by T-Mobile in Hungary and beside the handset the operator also offers new tariff packages that can be used to pay for minute charges, including Internet and SMS traffic. Those opting for these tariff packages can register for the iPhone 3G through the Internet, starting today. Those wishing to purchase the iPhone 3G among the first ones can buy the handset on August 22 from 0 hours in the Budapest MOM Park shopping mall T-Point shop. Following this T-Mobile starts selling the iPhone in 101 shops all around the country.

The iPhone 3G will be available in 8 and 16 GB versions, the latter one will come in black and white colours. In addition, T-Mobile also introduces two new tariff packages especially tailored for the iPhone 3G, including minutes of use, SMS messages and inland Internet use under the names of T-Mobile ikon 400 and T-Mobile ikon 600. With the new T-Mobile iKon packages the features and capabilities of iPhone 3G can be fully exploited.

The T-Mobile ikon 400 tariff package – to be introduced from August 22 and with a monthly fee of HUF 9,900 - includes 400 minutes of talk time within Hungary, 200 intra-network SMS and 2GB data traffic available for Internet and email. The T-Mobile ikon 600 package includes 600 minutes of talk time within Hungary, 400 intra-network SMS and 4GB data traffic, for a monthly fee of HUF 16,990. The iPhone 3G 8 GB version with the T-Mobile ikon 600 package and a 24 months loyalty period committed for the tariff package cost HUF 990, while the price of the 16 GB version under the same conditions will be HUF 4980.

Obviously the iPhone 3G may also be purchased with the other T-Mobile tariff packages (except for the MobileHome and MobileHome Premium price plans) and existing customers can also have it by replacing their handsets, upon taking a new loyalty commitment for their tariff plans. The iPhone 3G will be available with loyalty commitments both for 12 or 24 months, valid for the subscription and the selected tariff plan.

Following the announcement, both existing and new subscribers can place preliminary orders for a limited number of handsets at the Internet at www.t-mobile.hu/iphone. This way they surely receive the iPhone 3G within a couple of days after the launch, without having to stand in the line. The Internet registration option is available to those selecting the T-Mobile ikon tariff packages, and to existing customers wishing to maintain their current post-paid packages. Platinum card subscribers enjoy preference in the course of deliveries. Assuming that handsets assigned for Internet registration run out, the registration process continues – however in such cases the operator takes no guarantee for the time of delivery.

On the occasion of the Hungarian premiere of iPhone 3G the largest Hungarian mobile operator organises a Premiere Party, starting on August 21 at 10 p.m. at the MOM Park shopping mall (address: 1123 Budapest, Alkotás u. 53.), in Csörsz utca at the entrance of the T-Point shop on the ground floor. Well-known DJs will provide the good atmosphere, while the first buyers of the iPhone, as well as interested visitors will be offered cocktails, beverages and programmes. The first 10 people buying the iPhone 3G handset will also receive a memorabilia plaque, commemorating the event and their being among the first ten.

Following MOM Park shopping mall, in normal opening hours further 101 shops, T-Points and designated partner shops will offer the iPhone 3G. The list of the shops concerned can be viewed at www.t-mobile.hu/iphone, where information about the August 22 premiere is also available.
