T-Com Children’s Island opens again on May 31
Budapest, May 27, 2008
This year each weekend from May 31 to July 6, T-Com Children’s Island will await children and their parents for the seventh time with a fairytale park, craft activities, games, performances and sports programs. T-Com, with the Nonprofit Information and Education Center Foundation (NIOK), helps those who could not afford to make the long trip to visit the Children’s Island. It has arranged for the travel of hundreds of children, calling for applications from organizations caring for disadvantaged children.
Each
weekend for more than a month with T-Com sponsorship Hajógyári
(Shipyard) Island in Budapest will be converted into a large outdoor
playground where children of various ages can select from the widest
offerings available in Hungary. This year too, T-Com will construct a
Fairytale Park where children can meet their favorite fairytale heroes
in playful tests while acting themselves. Continuously updated
information about the T-Com Children’s Island is available on the
website
www.sziget.hu/gyereksziget
. Admission to the event is free, bicycle deposits and left-luggage services are available free of charge.
T-Com
has also thought of those who could not afford to make the long trip to
visit the Children’s Island so, with the involvement of the Nonprofit
Information and Education Center Foundation (NIOK), they called for
applications from organizations and institutions caring for
underprivileged children living outside Budapest. The objective was to
enable children who could not participate in the programs due to their
social situation to visit the Children’s Island. As a result of the
competition T-Com will offer 35-seat buses to the 12 winning
organizations to bring children to the venue of the event and naturally
to take them back home after the programs. On arrival the children will
receive a snack package and at the end of the day can return home with
many experiences and small gifts.
