Imre Bölcskei elected president of Communications Conciliatory Council
Budapest, June 9, 2008
The June 5 annual meeting of the Communications Conciliatory Council (HÉT) elected Imre Bölcskei, former director of Regulatory Affairs of Magyar Telekom, the new president of the council. There were five candidates for the post and three remained shortlisted by the date of the AGM. In the secret vote the majority of the ordinary members voted for Imre Bölcskei.
After years with the Post,
Imre Bölcskei worked for decades in public administration, for several
years in the position of state secretary, promoting the development of
the Hungarian communications industry. After that time he entered the
employment of Magyar Telekom (formerly Matáv) working on regulatory
affairs until his retirement at the end of 2007.
HÉT, whose
members include all three mobile operators, the biggest wireline
providers, Magyar Posta and the two big Hungarian cable associations,
is the most powerful interest representation organization of the
communications industry. In view of the regulatory challenges of the
next two years HÉT will have outstanding tasks in representing the
interests of the players of the communications industry.
